The more you experience the outdoors, the more you’ll crave for more – more challenges, more adventure. As if long dayhikes are not enough, Epifanio came up with another crazy idea over the weekday: to hike at night our beloved Spartan Trail. Though I have been familiar with such trail and have experience three days of total darkness inside the country’s largest caving system, just the thought of the trail’s eeriness made me feel hesitant. Imagine, the canopied trails and river system already seemed disturbing at daytime, how much more at night? But well, wild hearts are difficult to tame.
Ah, it’s that time of the year again – time to rephrase the resolutions that failed for several years. Another attempt to make oneself better. But if we looked back on how we used to, […]

Nothing much changed on the trails of Mt. Talinis. The vegetation was still thick. There is an ample amount of water supply. The Twin Falls are still astoundingly beautiful. And Lake Nailig couldn’t have been more alluringly serene. Truly, first love never die. While I was silently trailing behind the pack, I was actually recalling the music played by Jet while battling with ascents.
Working for over six years in the same institution made me realize one thing: people come and go. As much as you wanted to keep the dear ones, you have to accept the fact that […]
The interest of hiking Panay’s toughest mountain, Mt. Baloy Daku, all started with fandom. I have a weird habit of reading all posts of a blogger if I find him/her interesting. After reading Sir Adonis’ ninety-day immersion amongst the mountains of Cordillera (I Found God in the Mountains), I got engrossed on the rest of his stories – including his several attempts of reaching Mt. Baloy’s summit.
I used to despise Sundays when I was younger. To me, it was equivalent to doomsday. Back then, the only thing I feared, aside from being whacked by a brook stick (or hanger), was to […]
While most believed in the cliché that one must not judge a book by its cover; I, on the other hand, had taken this more specifically – thou shall not judge unless you went camping. […]
I’m not a good decision-maker; in fact, most of my trips are out of randomness. While it’s essential to come up with firm decisions at times, there are moments when it’s easier to let fate […]
