What will you do if you are given two weeks of paid vacation? Where will you go? Back when I started traveling, this has always been my favorite time of the year – a time to explore uncharted places, try new dishes, meet new friends, tick off activities from the bucket list, discover oneself, and so on. It is a time that I always look forward for. The experiences and stories were one for the books. And the encounters forged lasted even more because of the shared adventures.
Though seemingly terrifying like of the Battle of Thermopylae, according to some outdoor enthusiasts, Spartan Trail got nothing to do with such bloody war led by King Leonidas. Rather, it got its name from an outdoor group that bushwhacked the trail from Banawa to Pamutan in the early hiking days.
Once you get a taste how wonderful it is to chase waterfalls in Cebu, you’ll eventually be craving for more. Aside from wonderful beaches, Cebu is also a home to grandiose bodies of water, waiting […]
But aside from sunset, Lintaon Peak is best enjoyed at night because of its 16,000 LED roses that light up when darkness comes. If you’ve read about my post of Jardin Necitas in Bohol, you’ll know my growing desire to witness these buds glow at night. We were quietly marveling the sunset when out of nowhere the wind became stronger and drops of water began pouring. Wilma and Agustine immediately secured baby Amarise while Badeth instantly assisted Nanay in going back to the function hall where the entrance is located.
Walking has brought me to a thousand different places – even if I’ve been trailing the same road every day. No, this ain’t astral projection, nor was I summoned by Dr. Strange. I have been eyeing on watching “Bohemian Rhapsody” after its release. But opportunity have been dodging me for quite some time. On the last day of its show, I chanced upon a perfect schedule to finally watch it on a nearby cinema. But the weather didn’t cooperate and vehicles suddenly went scarce. Defeated, I tried to console myself by taking a stroll.
Jardin Necitas houses 20,000 glowing multicolored LED tulips and roses that lit up at night. Obviously, the best time to visit the place is at night; however, since we have to go back to Panglao for our accommodation, we have to leave Jardin Necitas early so as to catch the 9pm dinner prepared at the resort. We arrived at Jardin Necitas by half past four in the afternoon when the sun was still brightly shining above all creations. We waited for the surroundings to dim a little so that we can still take photos of the glowing flowers… but we never got the chance to.
After our year end hike to Mt. Apo last year, I took a few months hiatus from hiking. Suddenly, the thought of getting toasted by the sun and tracing new trails no longer did interest […]
