Nobody promised life to be easy. Some days, it is a delightful summer which brims with happiness and joy; other days, it is a stormy weather that needed to get passed through. It’s a combination of constant contradiction and it is up to us on how we choose to deal with it. Lately, I have realized how beauty is actually not on the eye of the beholder, rather on how the beholder “chooses” to see. This I have proven real upon our visit at the newest tourist attraction in Cebu – Neri’s Ville Selfie Corner.

Recently opened last September 7, Neri’s Ville offers a beautiful taste of Bali and New Zealand. After our Samgyupsal Session at Jacque’s house, we decided to visit the place so as break the monotony of the working days. We traveled approximately two and a half hours to be able to catch a glimpse of sunset and take numerous photos of Neri’s Ville Selfie Corner.

Like happiness, beauty is a choice. No matter how pleasing the vicinity or an individual is, if you’re under the weather or you simply choose not to be appreciate what’s in front of you, it becomes difficult to feel happy and contented. We all encounter rough days; but isn’t the world too broken and our lives too short to live with hatred and dullness? If you look around you, there are so many things to be grateful about – the people who care about you, opportunities granted upon you, job that fill your pockets, family that accepts you for who you are, and friends to get crazy with. Maybe we should stop haggling with all the little inconveniences we experience. We need to stop fishing for sympathy. Everyone is fighting a battle, we know nothing about. We all need a little tough love from time to time, and this makes living a little more beautiful.

May your days be filled with gladness and joy; and that you see every struggle as a beautiful metamorphosis. See you on trails!

TIPS and TRICKS:
- Do not expect too much of the place. It’s not a park. True to its name, it’s just a selfie corner. Do not get fooled with how the photos were angled.
- There are not restaurant or coffee shops near the area. Bring your own food.
- Entrance fee is P50.00 while habal-habal fare is P200.00 (back and forth plus waiting time fee).
- Best time to visit is on a weekday to avoid waiting for your cue. It is also preferable to go there in the afternoon to avoid the stinging rays of the sun and witness the alluring sunset of Cebu.
