True to its name, Anda de Boracay resembles to Boracay’s white sand beach (though not as fine). As it was a weekend and the place was opened to public, there was a quite number of people on the beach that day. Nonetheless, it didn’t spoil the beauty that the beach already has and the fun we had. We stayed until after and saw how the place can transform into something magical. As the tides change, we saw a number of species hidden underwater. Though the sunset on the area isn’t as majestic as of the real Boracay, it was still such a sight to behold.
A Yellow Lake in Cebu? Sounds crazy right? This was also our initial reaction upon hearing those words from the locals whom we interacted during our short trip around Cebu. But well, blessed are the curious for they will have adventures. From Lake Kadamon, we took an uphill hike going to a seemingly barren area. The environment was rather peculiar. The place was so humid. The trees and plants growing looked really dry. And the soil was colored… yellow! No wonder, the locals described it as “magical”. We followed the trails going to an open area and saw the Yellow Lake that they were talking about.
Without argument, hiking is a powerful workout. It is proven to lower stress level, improve mood, enhance mental well-being, and even reduce risks of heart disorders. However, while hiking is a great way to stay fit and active, being too exposed to the raging heat of the sun can leave hikers with dry skin. Getting several shades darker is never a problem; but beyond this aesthetic effect, intense exposure to the sun can really cause harmful sunburns, skin damage, or worse, skin cancer.

We all know that here in the Philippines, we don’t settle with just three meals a day. For growing kids and deadline-pressured adults, a light bite has become a must to sustain the energy all through the rest of the day. Sadly, with the growing number of cafés and food house offering foreign-inspired drinks and snacks, much of our classic Pinoy merienda have slowly taken the sidelines. But our food is a reflection of our culture, our identity. Hence, the Merienda Makeover Challenge event organized in Casa Gorordo.
Sirao Peak comes in various names – Mt. Kan-irag and Sibugay to name a few. Whatever suits you, I’m sure you’ve come across or even hiked already this familiar highland within the borders of Cebu City. Despite the ongoing commotion and healthy arguments among local outdoorsmen, the highlands of Cebu remains as a beautiful sanctuary for those who seek refuge away from the hassles of the city. For this reason, many aspiring hikers would like to try hiking and camping at Sirao Peak.
Our decisions these days are all based on the traffic situation – the place to live, school to study, restaurants to dine, malls to go, and spots to travel. As years went by, this traffic […]
It was through an invitational post on Cebu Wanderer’s Group that I got a chance to visit Toledo – the gateway to the western part of Cebu Province. It is the home of the Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation, now Carmen Copper Corporation. Planning to join a treasure hunt as well in Toledo City? Here’s what what we found.
